Managing Skincare With A Busy Lifestyle
While we're out there making things happen, we often miss out on important skincare rituals that take a toll on our skin in the long run. A busy work schedule often pushes our self care routine aside. Work, family, social life, and side hustles take up 18+ hours each day, but there are easy ways to include wellness into your daily routine.
Ways to manage your skin with a busy lifestyle
Fortunately, there are a few ways to get healthy skin, even when you are super busy. In addition to taking a break, eating well and hydrating enough, there are some skincare routes you can take, which do a lot for your skin in very little time -
Cleansing your face twice a day
I know it might sound too much of an ask for someone with a busy lifestyle but cleansing your face twice a day is the biggest gift you can give to your skin. For morning, simply washing your face with a mild cleanser like ‘Touch Me Not’ or wiping it with some warm water or naturally toning ingredients like rose water is enough to cleanse the excess oil produced overnight and maintain a soft and natural look. In the night however, it is crucial to take off the makeup and pollution- for this I always recommend double cleansing using ‘Berry Much’ and ‘No Fuss’.
Sleep with a night cream/serum on
While you power down, allow some natural skin care products to work on your skin as it is during the night that our skin revives itself. My favorites are ‘Timeless’ and ‘Soak In Love’ as they really help in nourishing my skin overnight and make sure I wake up with baby soft, supple and hydrated skin the next morning.
Say hello to water
Running back to back errands, stress and prolonged screen time dehydrates our skin. To avoid dehydrated, irritated and stretchy skin, make sure you are sipping on mineral rich water in the form of lemonade or coconut water every now and then and giving your body enough hydration for it to work optimally. Hydration takes care of most of the skin issues and is truly a busy person’s best friend. Another tip that I follow is to carry a hydrosol such as a ‘Vetiver Hydrosol’ to spray on my face and give it that burst of instant hydration from time to time.
A healthy skin is a balanced diet
If you cannot engage yourself in skincare and haircare from time to time, make sure that your diet is in check. A balanced diet, quality produce and lifestyle choices such as a sound sleep cycle and enough mobility directly reflects on your skin. If you feel that your skin is getting worse, know it's time to make a change in your diet and habits.
Facial massage and exercise
This is something that you can incorporate in your routine even if you are regularly on the go. Facial exercises are easy to perform and improve blood circulation. My favorite thing is to smile!
There are no excuses when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, only some choices that we need to make from time to time!
